Advantages of FRP rock bolt:

(1)     FRP bolts are lightweight and strong: the relative quality of FRP is only 1.5-2.0, but the strength can be close to the level of steel, the supporting strength of FRP rock bolt is close to the supporting strength of steel anchor, and its weight is only about 1/5 of the same specification steel anchor.

(2)     FRP bolt are easy to cut and do not produce sparks, FRP is a nonmetallic material that is easy to cut and does not generate sparks, it is especially suitable for “comprehensive mining” operations. It not only ensures the safety of underground operation, but also solves the anchoring and supporting effect of the mine, which can greatly improve the coal mining efficiency, can greatly reduce the damange of the coal cutter pick and reduce the production cost. In addition, the FRP bolts are cut into the bins with the coal after cutting, which avoids the damage of the scrap bolts to the equipment.

At present, the quality of domestically produced FRP anchors has been greatly improved compared with the previous chanting, which can meet the support needs of most mining roadways. Although the application range of FRP anchors has been greatly expanded, the application of the anchors in coal mines is still limited to the support of mining roads with short service years.
