Differences Between Left-handed And Right-handed Rock Bolt

In modern coal mine roadway support, left-handed rock bolts and right-handed rock bolts both play a large role, and the differences between them are mainly reflected in characteristics and use methods.

The left-handed rock bolt has high strength, reasonable structure, and large pre-tightening force. It can adjust the direction of the force automatically, increase the restraining force on the surrounding rock, and achieve rapid and mechanized installation. End-rock bolt, extension rock bolt and full rock bolt are mainly used for high-strength support of large deformation roadways in high ground pressure mines, and also for high-strength and permanent roadway support of railways, hydropower and other projects. The left-hand rock bolt should pay attention to the following three points when using:

1. Determine the anchor hole position according to the design requirements, and use drilling rigs to punch holes;

2. Clean the rock powder in the hole with compressed air;

3. Send the anchoring agent to the bottom of the hole, and use the anchor to start the stirring (the stirring time is according to the type of the anchoring agent). After the stirring is completed, remove the stirring machine. After the waiting time is reached, remove the stirring connector and install the anchor disk, ball washer, friction washer, and nut with special wrench.

The right-handed rock bolt is easy to operate and inexpensive, and is widely used in various roadway support for coal mines, railways, hydropower and other projects.

Its structure is reasonable, and the full length of the anchor rod is equal to the full length. It solves the shortcomings of the anti-twist anchor bolts and the low strength of the flattened part, and the bearing capacity of the anti-twist anchors of the same specification is increased by 40%.

Installation steps of Right-handed rock bolt:

1. Determine the anchor hole position according to the design requirements, and use a drill, anchor drill or coal electric drill to drill the hole, the depth is 80-100mm shorter than the length of the rock bolt;

2. Use a compressed air pipe to reach the fundus of the eye, and use compressed air to blow out the rock powder in the hole;

3. The diameter of the drill hole is required to be 6-12mm larger than the diameter of the anchor rod;

4. Use the anchor rod to send the medicine roll to the fundus, start the stirring device to stir, and strictly control the stirring time according to the requirements of the resin anchor fixative;

5. After the curing time is reached, put on the tray and tighten the nut.
