The effect of prestressing on a circular pool is the same as that of a bucket with a hoop. Similarly, prestressing a member before a load is applied to a bent member will cause a deformation that is opposite to the deformation of the load effect. Before the load requires the component to deform in the direction of its effect, it is necessary to first offset the deformation opposite to the load in order to continue to deform the component in the direction of the load. This prestress is like adding an additional protection to the component. Therefore, the prestressed mining steel strand is much stronger than the ordinary mining steel strand.
